Chicago producer and rapper Saba is definitely putting in work for 2016. After working with other Chi-town representatives like Chance the Rapper and Noname Gypsy, Saba is back with and spitting fire on his latest track, “Soap Box”.

On the three minute track, Saba spits over a gritty influenced beat created by himself and Pholeix. The guitar perfectly complements his flow while his singing on the hook takes the track to another level.

I set a fire to the flames in hell/Lord help, Lord help
I been too quiet now I’m outta my shell / They ain’t rocking with it, oh well
And I’ve seen the days come and go /I’d swear that I’ve been here before
I felt the top I feel the low / Meet me on the ground ten toes

In an interview with XXL, the 21 year old spoke on his inspiration behind his craft.

“Music reaches you in a way that no other thing can. So to be that voice, to be that conscience that leads you to the light. Just as a young person, I feel like that shit is important and that’s what I would like to be for a young child out there somewhere. Preferably from the West Side of Chicago so they can know that this shit is possible. And not even this shit like, ‘Hey go be a rapper,’ but go take that risk and go be what you want to be.”
